3rd Annual Strides for Change Walk of Hope Week

PARC Foundation and Mothers Against Drunk Driving host event in Canada

AUGUST 2011 – For its third consecutive year, PARC Foundation teamed up with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) York Region Chapter in Canada to host the Strides for Change Walk of Hope Week, from August 8 – August 14th. Guests registered for the challenge walk and flagged races throughout the week, at NASCAR SpeedPark Vaughan Mills Mall in Ontaria, Canada.

On Sunday, August 14th, Hope Week concluded with a presentation from MADD York Region Chapter, and General Manager of NASCAR SpeedPark Vaughan Mills, Domenic Buttiglieri. The York Region police, fire, and emergency response departments were in attendance, along with park guests. Sparkie, the NASCAR SpeedPark mascot also joined in on the festivities and participated in the ribbon cutting ceremony to kick off the Strides for Change Walk around the Vaughan Mills Mall. Nearly $700.00 were raised in funds from this partnership to benefit the road safety and victim services program of MADD York Region Chapter.

PARC Foundation is proud of the community relationships that have developed in the Vaughan community. This partnership shows when a cause is important to those involved in the fundraising efforts, great things can happen!
